It was a Stampede!

OMG....I got to the house a little before 1:00 for my Free Sale and there were cars and trucks lined up and down the street and a lot of people standing outside the house waiting for me. You wouldn't believe it. I had posted a partial list of the things I had left to give away, so most of them knew exactly what they wanted. I opened the door and it was total chaos. It was like that commerical they show on TV when they are having the after Thanksgiving sales, and the salesman is afraid to open the door...haha....Everyone came in and just started going for the stuff...room to room. Two guys came in and immediately went for the Organ. Unfortunately, my mother's organ didn't sell at the Estate Sale, so I had to get rid of it. I'm NOT dealing with this crap anymore. And I didn't want to just pitch it out in the trash either. So they took it. But all these people and kids were all over the place, grabbing whatever they could grab...people carrying boxes and bags of stuff to their cars. I swear, it was pretty much gone by 1:30. Some more people came later and took some more things. I don't have very much left, so that's great....less to pack up and give to Salvation Army or pitch out. It was kinda fun to watch. One woman was saying how much fun this was...just to go in a house and take what you want. One lady took my mom's good dishes...I did save the sugar and creamer from it. And I did sell the teacups and saucers that went with it. This young girl who bought just the teacups and saucers said that her g'friend was getting married and she wanted to have a "teaparty" theme....that was cool. I had a set of Corell dishes that someone took.

I had also listed a "golf cart"...but I meant the kind you push...I guess they are really called a "golf caddy", but what the hell do I know. So this one guy shows up hauling some trailer behind his truck cause he thought it was a real rider golf cart...LOL...he was disappointed, but oh well. Someone took the caddy and my old golf clubs and my son's clubs, too. I mean, shit was flying out the door.

Two of my mom's neighbors came over to see what was going on. They thought I was really making a lot of money cause they saw all these people carrying all this stuff out so quickly. I told them that it was a Free Sale. They took a few things. But by that time, it was pretty much gone. There are still some things, but not much. Nobody took my mom's window curtains, and I had some cute Xmas things nobody took...and vases and planters and my son's hubcaps....and I still have tons of books left.

So that's a good way to get rid of all your garage sale stuff...just give it away. Otherwise, I would just have to pack it up and give it to Salvation Army anyway...same thing.

My poor little Mini Sue has these hotspots on her skin from her scratching and she is just miserable. I gave her a bath tonight with this anti-itch cortozone stuff and it helped a little. I think I'm going to try and make an appointment at the vet tomorrow. So another busy day tomorrow....
