So where's my sh*t???

Apparently, THAT is a question many people are asking themselves when they retrieve and unpack their luggage after an airline trip.

When my son and his girlfriend were coming back from Vegas, they almost missed their flight. They were able to get on the plane, but their luggage had to arrive on a later flight....no time to get it checked and boarded. So they arrived back in Detroit at 6:30 a.m. (last Friday), and their luggage didn't get here until 4:00. When they were unpacking, everything was a mess.....clothes were missing and an expensive bottle of perfume she had packed....GONE!! Ya can't bring perfume on board with you anymore, so you have to pack it. The airline people have a real scam going, I think.

I've googled "airport baggage theft" and have learned that this is a very common problem.....thousands of people are having their luggage ransacked and items stolen by airport personnel. Actually, I've read that federal people are in charge of security now and only they can open luggage. So it's federal people doing this shameful act of thievery.

It's a damn shame that we have all this security to protect us from outside terrorism, and it's really our own people we need protection from.

My son has tried to call Spirit Airlines and gets nowhere. Also, since it's federal people involved, they won't even report the thefts to the police....it's a major cover-up.

Opening up luggage is an invasion of privacy unless something shows up suspicious when it's run through those x-ray machines. My son said that you can't even put locks on your luggage anymore....cause they have to be able to inspect the contents at will. How totally utterly ridiculous.....

Lucky Me....!

Hey.....I just won $27 tonight playing Keno. The most I ever won playing Keno is $11 a few times. I went out with my girlfriend tonight for dinner and drinks and chatting. At the bar they had Keno and I decided to play my dogs' birthdays....7-11 and 11-14, so I played 3 numbers, 7-11-14 for 3 plays; and on the third play they came up and I won $27!....which paid for our drinks plus tip. Even the waitress was excited for us.

Just before I left tonight, my son and his girlfriend came over to show us the new car deal he bought. He bought a 2001 Impala police car for $1000 off ebay. It's a really nice car. It had a new engine installed a few years ago, so basically the new engine only has 22,000 miles on it.

I put a couple things on sale on craigslist and I just saw a few responses in my email. Now I have to decide who the lucky winner will be!!...and contact them.

I gave Lucky a bath tonight, so he is not very happy with me. He really HATES baths!...haha....too bad....he was a real stinko. He had his parvo and rabies shot last Monday and got the runs. Hubby said that he was crappin all over the house and he stunk.

Hubby went to the doc for a checkup on his shoulder and doc says he wants him to go back in the hospital for another one of those procedures that he just had.....where they numb up the arm and twist it around so it doesn't freeze up. Good Lord, I have to be the driver and last time we had to be at the hospital at 5:30 in the freakin morning. I told hubby I'm gonna be in Caseville and won't be available to drive....he said for me not to worry about it....(in a crabby voice, I might add)...whatever....

Okay, time for bed......

Home again....how sweet....

Okay...I been up to Caseville cause I had to cut my grass and water my flower and vegetable garden. I left Tuesday and drove back home tonight...well, Friday night actually...guess it's kinda Saturday A.M. now...but WHATEVER...

So now I'm home....but it was nicer in Caseville.

I drove to McGraw park where we use to rent a place next door with the kids when they were little. I laid out on the beach right next to the place where we use to bury the kids up to their necks in sand....where we use to bar-be-que....where one summer it was so damn cold and I said "to hell with it, I'm going swimming", and I ran out into the frigid water and my kids came with me and next think I knew, some of the other cottage renters came out in the water and we had a total blast and my husband was on the shore circling his ear with his finger indicating that I was "fucking crazy!!"....but me and the boys had fun....hey, it really was a bit warmer under the water.

Those were the days.....

When life was the bestest....

and we didn't know it....

Monday....the day after F'Day

Yesterday was Father's Day. Actually, I thought it was last Sunday and called my army son and left a message wishing him a happy Father's Day...duh? I get my days and weeks and weekends mixed up. So anyway, when he called Saturday he mentioned it and we laughed. He called again Sunday and left a message for his dad. My middle son stopped by for awhile and about 20 minutes after he left my youngest and his girlfriend stopped over. They were back from Caseville and had already been to her family's house.

I took Lucky to the vet and he got his parvo and rabies vaccine and they drew blood for a heartworm test. The vet tried to check out his ears....she did one and then he tried to bite her so she skipped the other one....bad dog....haha.

I put my birdbath/fountain on Craigs list and sold it. The guy and his fiance came tonight and got it. At least I made a little profit. We bought it for $35 and sold it for $125, and that basically paid for Lucky's vet bill today.

I am leaving for Caseville tomorrow for just a few days. I'll be back by Friday. I need to get up there and cut the damn grass....it's already been over a week since it was last cut. I have an annual class reunion thing I am going to on the 29th and won't be able to get back up there until the 30th, and I can't let it go that long....so I'll just drive there and get it cut.

Hubby is still in a lot of pain with his shoulder. He tries not to take the meds cause they zonk him out and make him feel like crap. He has therapy tomorrow. Two more weeks of therapy and then he is planning on skipping the last week cause he wants to get up to Caseville for the 4th of July week. The therapist said he can and when he gets back, he can do another week. This whole shoulder thing is f'ing up everything!! And I'm gettin' real tired of doing everything here and there. Summer is so not a good time to get surgery done!

It is so damn hot today!!.....my son said it was over 100 in Vegas and they spent most of the time at the pool. I don't know why they just didn't spend the whole week in Caseville at the pool....would have been a lot cheaper and more relaxing. I don't think his girlfriend was all that impressed with Vegas and would have preferred Caseville.

Saturday Night......

I talked to my army son tonight! He graduated from his AIT a couple weeks ago. My daughter-in-law and the kids drove down to Virginia to see him then. So now he is stationed in Georgia for his Airbourne training.....he's with the 82nd Airbourne Division. He starts his training on Monday. He says that it's really tough to even stay in Airbourne. They got more guys than they have spots, so if you do ANYTHING they don't like, then you are OUT....they have to downsize from about 400 guys to 300. So he's hoping he doesn't get booted out. He really, really wants to get his "wings".

It's a 3 week training and then he comes home for a month! He gets 2 weeks off and he has to work 2 weeks at the recruiting office. Then if everything goes as planned, he will be stationed in North Carolina.

Today I met one of our new neighbors a couple houses down. They moved in a year and a half ago, but I never met them. Apparently, while I was in Caseville, my husband went over there and partied with them.....????(my hus NEVER parties with anyone...WTF??), so today I was out in the yard planting a flowering bush and he came over and introduced himself. He invited us over later for a few beers.....and I wanted to go....but hubby just wanted to lay on the couch as usual....so I didn't go over there.

I bought a set of golf clubs at this garage sale. I use to golf. I LOVED the sport even though I wasn't very good at it. My youngest son and I use to golf together in Caseville. When I had my estate sale at my mom's house, I sold our golf clubs cause we haven't golfed in years and years and the clubs were old-fashioned anyway. So now I'm thinking I might get back into it.

I got a response from someone to buy the birdbath/fountain. His fiance lives in Redford and they are coming over Monday and hopefully buy it. I admit, it looks really cool when it's hooked up and the water is flowing.

We watched some "Honeymooners" DVD's and I was laughing my butt off at the Kramden's. I sure don't laugh like that watching the crap sitcoms they have on TV nowadays. Jackie Gleason and Lucille Ball (I Love Lucy) were the funniest shows on TV EVER!!!!

For Sale....

Actually I am trying to sell stuff on Craigslist.

I went to this estate sale and bought this (what they thought was only a....) birdbath but is actually a birdbath/fountain.) This fountain is a $400-$500 fountain. I've been pricing them at landscaping places. I paid $35 for it. So now I want to sell it for $135. I make $100 to help pay for my dog's vet bills and someone still gets a deal.

I got it plugged into my outlet on my driveway and the water is flowing.....so it definitely works.

I got it on Craigslist.org.....

LOTS...

1....I went to the Pt Austin Farmers Market and bought flowers

2....I went to a zillion garage sales and bought "STUFF!!!!!

3....I missed Bingo and spent the night working in the kitchen...

4....Kitchen gals and I drank a couple pitchers of beer after Bingo!

5....Former friend stopped by and we drank a few brews....

6....Drove to Bad Axe (1/2 hour drive)..and shopped at Walmart!!!

7....Planted flowers

8.....Went to Eagles and drank and partied with friends.

9.....Won $93 at Bingo(Actually that was the last time I was up....but struggling here for something interesting to type about)

10....$93 paid for my beer for the week....

11....Glad hus is home

Okay, I tried to get into my blog and I typed .net instead of .com or vice-versa or whaterver! Scared the shit out of me anyway.....what the hell is the diff??.com/.net/.com/.net/.com/.net.....

My son and his girlfriend arrived in Detroit with no luggage from Vegas. They rented a brand new (literally off the line June, 2007), 250 miles.....Impala. They decided to drive to Caseville anyway with the time shortage and stop by our house on the way...............just luv my kids.....(I'm sitting out on my patio, grilling a couple chicken breasts and I have literally almost NOOOOOO makeup on)...and I got company!!!....but it's just my kid and his girlfriend so it's really no big deal....

They had their digital cam of Vegas pics and I threw a couple brats on the grill for them and an easy deli of cole slaw......we had a barbeque!!!

GOD.....I LOVE MY KIDDDDOOOOO....and his Andrea. She is so perfect for him it is almsot scary.....I mean, I do NOT want to jinx this for him.

He let her paint his house her colors........!!

He let her drive the leased Impala to Caseville...(cause she said so)....

I'm lovin this....

Why do I like this girl so much.....mmmmmmmmm......cuz she reminds me of ME!!!!!

Okay, so anyways they are drivin up to Caseville cause after VEGAS they need some relaxation.

I need to get up to C'Ville next weekend and cut the damn fuck'ng grass....soooooo's I'm thinking that maybe my g'friend here in town can go with me and we can just drive up there for a couple days and I can cut that damn fuck'ng grass and then drive home on Sunday. So I leave her a message and I hear nothing as yet.

Ya know..,..I need to know what the hell I am doing.....Cause I also need to see my grandsons.....and go to Niagara Falls (which I do once a year).... and ppl seem to think that I have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH MY LIFE EXCEPT.....whatever!!!

Winter sucks cuz there is nothing to do.....then summer cums and it's overwhelming and you can't enjoy it cuz there is TOO MUCH to do and ppl expect too much from you...that's when I forget and realize how nice it is when winter comes and we can hibernate from everyone...

Airlines Suck....

My son called me this morning after they landed. Guess what?? Their luggage didn't get on the plane and won't be in Detroit until after 4:00!!

Now their original plan was to procede to Caseville for the weekend, but now that all their clothes and personal items are stuck on an airplane somewhere and can't even be picked up until later this afternoon, I doubt if they will bother going now.

THAT is EXACTLY the reason why people want to take as much as they can ON the plane with them.....cause the assinine airlines lose things. So now we are forced to put all our important things in our luggage and hope and pray that they arrive safely and ON TIME!!

I know that the last time I traveled on a plane, I took all my makeup with me in my carry-on. God forbid if the airlines lost my makeup....haha

Back for awhile....

I just got back from Caseville yesterday (Tuesday) cause my husband had to go back to the hospital and have some procedure done with his shoulder. They wanted to numb it up good and put him out for awhile and then the doctor could move the shoulder around and up behind his head and basically in positions that if the therapist tried to do it, it would hurt like hell. They wanted to be sure that there is no scar tissue and things are moving normally. Then I had to drive him to the therapist afterwards while his arm was still numbed up. He's been doing therapy 3 times a week for the past 2 weeks and he'll continue for another 2 weeks.

Anyway, he had to be at the hospital at 5:30 a.m.!! so I had to be up by 4:00....I think I fell asleep around 1, so I'm basically running on about 3 hours sleep today. When I was driving him to the hospital, this BLACK cat runs across the street in front of my car....and considering that today is the 13th, my husband told me to turn around and go back home....haha. Everything went okay though....

Also, I had to be home by yesterday cause my son and his girlfriend went to Vegas for a few days and they needed me to drive them to the airport. So I got home, unpacked and then hit the road again to his house and got them to the airport on time. They'll be back on Friday and then they're driving up to Caseville for the weekend............and I'm hoping that the condo has electricity by then, cause it sure as hell didn't have any when I left Tuesday. The maintenance guy is suppose to look into it. I told him he needed to get the electric company out there and fix it....pronto!! I'm going to call the office tomorrow and make sure they are doing something about it. But the weird thing is...is that the refrigerator was still running??!?!??...nothing else....no lights....no microwave....no stove...WTF??
