Friday night bash....Saturday night crashed...

Friday I went to Karl's Cabin for my annual high school get-together. We had a smaller crowd this year for some reason. With the 4th of July being the following weekend we expected more people to be available and come this year. There were about 16 of us, and that included a few spouses. Sometimes we can get 25-30. Keep in mind that this get-together is for people who live in the area or are in town and want to stop in on an annual basis.

This get-together also was the first meeting of getting a committee together to start planning our next BIG reunion which will be next year. So maybe that's why alot of people stayed away...haha...who knows. I'm going to help with the door prizes and the Memoriam display as I did last year. Plus, I'll help with the mailings. Our next meeting will be in January, so hoping more people will show up and get involved.

I got home around midnight and drank more beer and watched a movie. I think I got up by noon on Saturday. I ran around on Saturday to garage sales, Target, Walmart and Home Depot. I decided to try Walmart's pharmacy. I had already decided to do some switching with my blood pressure pills. My husband thinks I should leave well enough alone, but I want to SAVE MONEY! My doctor usually gives me a prescription for a 90 day supply with a refill that I send in. The bill use to be around $60 and the last time I got a 90 day supply it cost me over $100! So I find out that the way my doctor prescribes this 2 in 1 BP pill there is no generic for it. But if he separates it and gives me two separate prescriptions, then I can get the generic. In other words, instead of a 5/40....he gives me one script for the 5, and one for the 40 in another brand which comes in a generic. I also wanted him to give me a month to month script so I don't have to mail it in. According to my prescription coverage, they will only cover a 90 day supply if it is sent in....if I go to a pharmacy on my own, then it has to be a month to month in order for them to cover the cost....WHATEVER! So I went to Walmart as I have been told that they are the cheapest around. I got a month supply for both scripts for a total of $11.50....which is like $34.50 for 3 months....a huge difference from the over $100 I was paying before.

Now hubby has the same prescription, and guess what??? He better do the same thing whether he likes it or not. I have better things to do with our money like paying freakin VET BILLS!!

Anyway, Saturday night I watched Saturday Night Live cause they aired the first ever episode from back in 1975 when George Carlin hosted. He was funny, but kept it to clean jokes. We saw him in concert way back and he was funny as hell! He'll be missed. After SNL, I crashed....

Today I didn't do much. It rained as usual. I grilled some steaks. My husband put our new faucet in and I don't like it as much as my other one, but at least it doesn't have a dent on the spout. And for some reason, the pressure is better and the water roars out....and I do mean roar cause for some reason there is this loud roaring sound when the water comes out. Hubby said he doesn't notice any difference. Yeah, right....only cause if he admitted that he hears it too, then I might insist that he put my other faucet back in...dent and all...!!

Off to bed....Ciao

My time in C'Ville....

I got back from Caseville Tuesday and have been busy with vet and doctor appointments. Lucky finished his meds and his lymph nodes have gone down to almost normal, so the doctor went ahead and gave him his parvo vaccination that he is overdue to get. She didn't want to give it to him while he was sick. Then I made another appointment for Mini Sue later in the day and brought her in for the same vaccine. So they are good for another year.

Today I went to my doctor to get my BP prescription and blood work done. So I'm good for another six months.

I was busy, busy, busy in Caseville. I couldn't believe how high the grass had grown with all the rain we have been getting. The new lawnmower just plowed right through it with ease though. I ended up mowing everything 3 times before I left. I did the weedwacking, the edging, the weeding and more flower planting. My flower garden looks great this year so far. Most of the perrenials I planted last year came up. Before I left my one daylillie bloomed and I wish I had taken my camera with me cause it is so beautiful. My roses were blooming. Everything looks great. There were a lot of weeds to pull though. My veggie garden looks good. The only problem I had was that two of my cucumber plants weren't doing very well because I forgot to pull that thing off the bottom of the planter so there wasn't any drainage for them. The other two cuke plants were doing great because their planters had drainage. My peppers and tomatoes are growing good and getting blossoms, and my onions popped up and my radishes are going crazy. I should have a good garden this year.

...And I got my carpets cleaned! I did the bathroom, the bedroom and the living room and hall. I didn't do the 2nd bedroom cause it didn't really need it.

I took time out to enjoy myself as well. I went to the Eagles on Saturday night but because of all the graduation parties going on there weren't too many people in there. But George....the 90 yr old birthday boy....was there, so I sat with him and he talked about the old days when he and his wife first bought their property in the Caseville area back in 1948. We had a good time yakking and drinking beer. Then I left around 9:30 and went by the condo. They were having a "Blues on the Beach" bash. I sat with one of the cottage owners and talked and listened to the music that was playing in a tent that was set up. They had a total of 4 bands that night playing.

Another day I went to the condo and sat at the pool with some of the other owners there. It was a gorgeous day and I enjoyed the relaxation. I'm looking for a good masseuse and April recommended a friend of hers that lives down the road from me. So next time I'm there, I'll give her a call and see if she can relax these old muscles of mine!

Saturday morning I got up early and drove to Port Austin for the Farmer's Market. I hit a few garage sales along the way. I bought some jewelry and a plant. Then I went shopping in some of the stores and bought myself an ArtStone angel holding a black dove in her hands. I've been buying these angels with doves lately. I miss Brinks so much. I'm still always crying about her and praying she is okay. I was at this pet store and they have these Diamond Doves. They are half the size of Brinks and a light grey and white. Maybe one day I'll buy one.

My hus said that when the Tigers were playing San Diego at their park on television they had to stop the game because there was a pigeon walking around between the bases. They put the camera on the pigeon and he said it looked just like Brinks. The commentator said "...there's no pigeons in San Diego"...haha...

So I drove back home and got these appointments done. Tomorrow night I'm going to Karl's Cabin for my annual High School get-together thing. Funny thing is that one of the main classmates that organizes these things sent me an email. She wanted to tell me that she and her husband won't be at the get-together cause they will be camping at Sleeper State Park in Caseville! So she thought that if I was still in Caseville or driving back up then we could get together there. But I'm here so I guess I'll miss her. But now we will be getting together more often because of the planning of our next big reunion next year, so I'll be seeing her shortly anyway.

Tomorrow there are some estate sales I want to go to, so I'm going to bed so I can get up fairly early....

Ciao...

Is it Fall already?....

I think I missed summer cause it went by so fleetingly. One minute we are enjoying summerlike 80 degree weather, and then I wake up and it's back to the 60's again. I saw people wearing coats today. I turned my furnace on. I wore socks. Maybe the summer fairy will come bless us with some sunshine and warmth again one day.

I took Lucky in for his follow-up checkup today. The medicine is suppose to get rid of whatever bacterial infection he has and once it's gone, then the lymph nodes should go back to normal. The nodes are smaller but still swollen. He is still running a slight fever. Normal temp for dogs is between 99-102....his was 104. He still has another week on his meds, so she told me to bring him in again in a week once he's off his meds. I just don't know what the hell is going on, but he acts okay and eats good and plays and at least it's not cancer. Weird

I went to Home Depot to buy a new faucet for my kitchen sink. I love the one I have. But awhile ago a pot slipped from my hands and put a small ding on the spout. Of course, the faucet still works but that ding is driving me and my hubby crazy. At our cottage, hubby suggested that we put a new faucet in the kitchen cause the one on there now is old. So I suggested that we replace our dingy one at home with the same faucet and then put the dingy one in the cottage. It's still a whole lot nicer than the one there now, and I don't think the ding will bother me as much there. So off to Home Depot I went to buy the exact same faucet. Why oh why do companies have to keep changing things?? Where is my faucet?? I saw a few that I thought might be the same one but I had my doubts. I bought the one I thought matched the best. Took it home and it was nowhere even remotely close to my faucet. I think my mind was matching my bathroom faucet by mistake. So I took it back to return it. I wanted to take a picture of my faucet to take with me, but of course the batteries are dead in the camera....so I drew it on a piece of paper. I'm no artist and it looked a little cartoonish, but I figured it was better than my memory of it. So I'm holding up this drawing of my faucet and comparing it and found a somewhat livable lookalike. So that's the one I bought. The spout is a little different and the top part is a little different, but the sprayer is the same...but it's all basically close enough as far as I'm concerned. Mainly, there is no ding.

I got my car packed. I decided to leave alllllll the dogs home. They can get mad if they want, but I'm taking a mini vacation from all of them. I'm also going to take my carpet cleaner with me and clean the carpets as long as no dogs will be there. So I'll get my lawn cut, carpets cleaned and maybe catch the "Blues on the Beach" concert on Saturday night at the Bella Vista where my condo is. I may even spend the weekend there.

Have a good weekend....

My little "Lucky" Dog....

YES!!Lucky is very very Lucky. I finally talked to the vet and she said that the tested sample from his lymph nodes showed NO cancer! They are what they call "reactive lymph nodes". Apparently, they are swollen because they are reacting to some kind of infection/bacterial thingy. I am taking him in tomorrow for a follow-up checkup. He is still on his meds. She said that if the nodes don't go down, then they might have to do a biopsy, cause sometimes a simple aspiration of the nodes doesn't always give a correct diagnosis. But he seems fine. So he's okay. I am so relieved.....

We have been working on our front yard for the last couple days. There is this huge overgrown bush next to our front door that has overgrown right over the sidewalk. So I started cutting away, and now it is gone. It was backbreaking work, but we got it out of there. Then we laid down some landscaping bricks around the area, put in some mulch, new planters and plants....and it looks great. A major improvement.

Once I start cutting and pruning, it's like I can't stop! I went over to the side of the house, and there is crap growing everywhere and these long prickly things growing into our ground cover. So I got that all cleaned out and trimmed up. I had an entire lawn bag filled with everything I "trimmed". Hubby isn't good at pruning and trimming....he just likes everything to just grow the way it wants to, and now we were starting to get this "wild" look....everything just overgrown and not very neat and pretty at all. We still have bushes that need to come out, but I don't want to get too drastic. Take it a step at a time. Besides I have better things to do this summer than cut down bushes and re-landscrape everything. What we did today is a major improvement.

So one of us needs to get the new lawnmower up to Caseville and get the grass cut. I thought hubby was going to do it, but he still has a lot of outside work to do, so I guess I'm going to do it. He still needs to get all the "little trees" out of our gutters, for instance. I'm going to leave Thursday and be back home by Tues/Wed of next week. I have a get-together to go to on Friday, the 27th. So it will be a short trip. I'm only going to take little Mini Sue and the other two dogs can stay home. There is no room for everybody and the lawnmower in the jeep. I'm only taking Mini cause if I didn't she will pout the entire time I'm gone and then not speak to me when I get back, so I guess I'll have to take her!

I'm exhausted and every muscle in my body aches, so maybe I'll get a good night's sleep tonight....

Nite...

A Man's Word is His Word.....

My father was a man who believed in a handshake...that a man's word is his word basically.

Many many years ago we lived in Canton, a rural township outside of Plymouth. We owned an acre of land and my father and his friends built the house that we moved into back in 1960. Before we moved while he was building it, he use to somewhat quote a line in the book "Of Mice and Men" where George tells Lennie how it's gonna be someday...."we're gonna have a little house and a couple of acres and a 'horse' and some 'chickens' and live off the fat of the land"! It was his dream...a dream he made come true. He got his house on an acre. He built a small barn and hung up a sign that said "Paquin's Ponderosa", and bought a horse. My mother had her chickens and sold the eggs for 50 cents a dozen. They were able to pay off the loan they took out to build the house in a few short years, and lived there mortgage free.

But then progress moves in and the woods behind our acre where he and my oldest son use to camp out in was knocked down and apartments were built. The empty lot next to ours on a very coveted main road corner was sold and a theatre was to be built. His paradise was being intruded upon. So he bought a few acres about 5 miles down the road and had another house built. He put the house he built himself up for sale.

They had a few interested buyers. My father's main concern was that between the closing and their actual move he did not want to pay "rent" on his own house. He even gave the potential sellers a bargain price as long as he could stay in the house after the closing until their new house was ready to move into rent-free. The man understood and he and my father shook on it.

They met at a lawyer's office for the closing and the lawyer had all the papers prepared. He went through each paper explaining the details as he went along. Then he began to read about the "escrow" that was set up and the details of the monetary amount that my parents were to pay for each month after the closing until they moved. My father interrupted and explained to the lawyer that there was to be no rent escrow during that time. The lawyer was confused as this is a standard procedure. My father looked to the gentleman buyer for his confirmation on this rent-free agreement in exchange for a lower bargain sale price. The gentleman with a straight face simply said "Well, of course you have to pay rent while you are staying in the house." My father reminded him of their agreement and he wouldn't budge. He thought he had my father over a barrel. They were already at the lawyer's office all ready to close on the deal. My mother was shaking inside cause she knew......she knew.....

My father simply stood up and told the lawyer that the deal is off....there would be no closing today. And he and my mother walked out of the office. My mother was shaking. They HAD to sell the house. They needed to get the money to complete their new house. They didn't have time to find new buyers. But she knew there was no point in arguing with my father. A man simply does NOT go back on his word.

The man's wife who was a very quiet lady had sat there not saying a word. She KNEW my father was right. When my mother and father were out in the hall, she came out of the office, walked up to them, and said "I'm so sorry, but that's just the way he is."

There had been a young couple who also had been interested in the house. When they got home, my mother called them to see if they were still interested and luckily they were. They were thrilled to death that they could still buy the house. They agreed to my father's terms and the deal was done. Very nice people.

A man's word is his word.....

Happy Father's Day DAD.......

It's been 29 years since I saw your face and touched your hand and heard your voice. I was always so proud of you. You were the best dad. Even people who knew you say that you were one of a kind. You had integrity. You gave me the best advice before I got married and it has always stuck in my mind and guess what???...I'm still married! You are my rock. You are the 'wind beneath my wings'....everytime I hear that song, I cry cause it makes me think of you. The song "The Way We Were" makes me cry. Cause I remember the way we were....all of us...you, mom, Ron, Me together...the way we were. I miss you so much. I am not complete without you. I dreamt about you the other night. You were so real and I was so happy cause I was with you again. Then I woke up. I know you were reaching out to me cause you feel my pain. I love you so much. I wish we could have spent more time together when I had the chance...when you were here. Before the pain....before the cancer...before the so-called "good Lord" took you away from me. Happy Father's Day....2008

Yesterday....Friday the 13TH!!!!!!!!...OMG

Yesterday...(well, actually still today to me cause I haven't been to bed yet...but whatever)...I expected really bad things to happen. I almost didn't even want to get out of bed. I think I got up around 10 cause there was this great warehouse sale that I wanted to go to.

I cautiously drove to the warehouse and bought a few nice things that I really really needed. Nothing bad happened.

I went to Walgreen to get some pictures I had developed. Nothing bad happened.

I have a few things for sale on Craigslist (fuck Ebay) and a couple guys have emailed me about my replica 1956 pay phone. So I met one of them in a parking lot and we did a quick item/money exchange and....(much to my disappointment) nothing bad happened.

I drove to cheap, discount, hopefully cheaper than Walmart Aldi's and did some grocery shopping, and Nothing bad happened.

I was too afraid to cook dinner so hubby suggested we go to Sandy's for a fish dinner. I almost had a heart attack cause Hubby actually suggested that we actually go out for dinner!!, but I didn't....so nothing bad happened.

We waited in line for 30 mins but eventually got a table. There is an outside section that we preferred to sit at, and there were empty tables there....EMPTY TABLES....we asked the waitress if we could give up our long-awaited cherished table and sit outside and she had to go ask?????...we got a table outside. We ordered our fish sandwiches. His with french fries....mine with cole slaw. We got our dinner. We have eaten there many times and have ordered the fish sandwich. It ALWAYS comes with lettuce and tomato. We get our dinner. Our fish is laying on a bun....all alone.....with a little tartar sauce on the side. We get no Lettuce. We get no Tomato. So we are thinking that maybe because of the tomato scare Michigan is having, Sandy's has decided to forego the tomato/lettuce. So we eat our plain fish sandwiches. But I'm pissed.

I mention several times to hubby how awful I think it is that we can't even have lettuce and tomato any more on our fish sandwiches. I am obsessed by this thought. So when we go to leave, I decided to do some snooping. We leave the outdoor patio and perch ourselves on two barstools directly in front of the kitchen. I watch...and wait. I am waiting for an order of Fish Sandwiches. I want to see if someone else's order doesn't have tomato and lettuce. Hamburger orders...god, those burgers look good....I told Hubby I should have ordered a burger! Finally I see a fish sandwich.....and there IS LETTUCE AND TOMATO!!! I am really pissed now. So hubby tells the bartender that we want to speak to the chef himself. Okay....I don't want the chef to call the police or anything so we explain to the bartender how our fish sandwiches didn't have lettuce and tomato. He acted like he was upset about it too...and he asked us if we wanted to have some lettuce and tomato "to go". By this time, I had a few too many beers and laughed my ass off....

So that was my Friday the 13th bad thing......NO LETTUCE AND TOMATO!!

My gnome gardener...

This is a picture of this little bushy thing that started growing next to my huge tree a few years ago. I put my gnome next to it, and now it is so beautiful and flowery. I can't believe I almost cut it down.

Can you find my gnome?? He likes to hide.

Not a good day.....

Monday I gave my usual pint of blood to the American Red Cross. They'll be calling and calling and calling me again in a couple months.

Tuesday I mailed some packages....a Nascar comforter for my grandson and some baby clothes for my neice. I received a package....a book from my other neice (Thanks Holly!); I planted some flowers; and I got my dogs' licenses for the year.

Today started out crappy. Remember I said how Lucky was sick when I was in Caseville and I took him to the vet and he fixed him up?...and he's all better now??....NOT!! So yesterday we could tell that he was acting weird like he's sick again. He didn't eat all his food. He hides under the couch. He doesn't even come out and beg when I'm eating something with the other dogs. So today he had a complete relapse and now I'm worried. I wake up at 8:00 this morning and come downstairs to put Mini outside and there is blood all over my hall carpet...RED BLOOD!...and diahrea in my family room. Lucky is sick again. I call my vet and she told me to come in at 10. During the examination she finds two of his lymph nodes swelled by his back legs. She also does a rectal exam and feels a bulge in his intestines that shouldn't be there. There is also blood in his intestines. She did major blood work on him; and also inserted a needle into the lymph nodes to extract a specimen to examine. She found normal lymph node cells but also some abnormal ones that shouldn't be there. It is being sent to a lab for a specialist to examine and determine if it might be cancer. She gave me two medicines for him to take in the meantime. She called tonight to say basically from the blood work his white blood cell count is high which can indicate an infection/inflammation and/or cancer. She is waiting for the results of the Cytology (lymph node cells) to really determine what his problem is. She even wrote in her notes "His condition may be life threatening if it is cancerous". We are hoping that it is just simple like colitus or an infection....not cancer!!

Then this afternoon I went for my mammogram and wait and hope I don't get any letters or phone calls telling me I need to come back. It should be okay. But lately it seems like everybody I know is getting breast cancer of some type. I went to a funeral of a friend who had breast cancer....my former sister-in-law just had a lumpectomy and now undergoing chemo and radiation....my good friend is scheduled to have a masectomy on Monday....what the hell is going on?????

I hate the word C-A-N-C-E-R

So how was your day......

Hot...Hot....HOT.....

It has been hotter than hell this weekend...up into the 90's. The humidity must have been 100%! We've been trying to do some outdoor work this weekend and dripping in sweat while we're trying to do it. Then today we had a doozy of a storm and it sure helped cool things down a bit. I was out shopping when the storm came up. I was in Rite-Aid and all the lights went out. It was pouring rain and the wind was blowing hard and it was dark out. My windows were down and my car seats got a little soaked. I hurried up and drove home. Hubby hadn't put the patio umbrella down and I went out onto the patio and the wind literally picked it right up and blew it across the patio and it landed in a tree/bushy thing. Yesterday I swepted up the patio and got it all nice and clean and neat and now it looks like a tornado hit it...grrrrrr.

I knew a storm was coming. I always know. How do I know? Because every freaking year when my beautiful peonies are in full bloom and looking gorgeous it STORMS and ruins them...every f'ng year! It never fails. Saturday I even took pictures of them and told hubby that it will probably be storming now and they'll get ruined. So sure enough that's what happened....I just knew it...

We tore out these old scraggly bushes near our sidewalk off the driveway a while back. So now I put in some red mulch and some decorative figurines....a gnome, a mushroom, a frog and a brick that says "God Bless America". Now we decided to take out this other huge overgrown bush and just finish off the whole area. On both sides of the front door there were these two bushes and through the years they have grown and grown and hubby only trims them and doesn't cut them back so now the one bush is so growing over the sidewalk we can hardly even get to the front door. So that's the one that's going. Then we might get drastic and take out the other one on the other side and the other two half-dead bushy things and basically just start over. I wish I could call a landscaper professional and let them do it.

I went to a garage sale today and bought the neatest purse, but anyway...the guy runs his own business refacing kitchen cabinets and replacing cabinet doors. We absolutely HAVE to at least replace our doors and we have talked about it over and over. So the guy gave me a brocure and I'm going to have him come out and give us an estimate. So it was fate that I stopped by the garage sale, cause I almost didn't stop. I passed the street and decided to turn around. We had our kitchen cabinets refaced many many years ago, but through the years the doors have gotten bad and scratched up. Soon...soon...I will have new cabinet doors!!

And we have to get our driveway re-asphalted....I mean a total tear up and new asphalt poured. Our driveway is so bad. Hell, everything in this house is bad. I'm still trying to get the bathroom done. We need to get a plumber in and fix both bathroom tub faucets. Then I want to get the main bathtub reglazed. Then maybe...maybe...hubby will finish putting the molding down.

So much to do....
____________________________________________

Last night we went to the Redford festival and sat in the beer tent. We got chicken wings and a cheeseburger. But the cheeseburger was half-cooked...with way too much pink inside and mushy so I through it out. So I drank beer...lots and lots of beer!!

We had a good time.....

When I got home, I put in a video of one of my favorite movies..."Flashback". It stars Keifer Sutherland and Dennis Hopper. Hopper plays a Abby Hoffman/Jerry Rubin-type character....a rebel from the 60's basically who has been in hiding all these years. He gets caught and is being brought in by this FBI guy, Sutherland....who happens to have been raised by hippie parents and was raised in a commune as a child. But he doesn't want anybody to know this. Now he is this straight-laced FBI guy. During the trip of bringing Hopper to wherever they're going they form a kinda bond. They end up at the commune where he was raised and this hippie chick is still living there (played by Carol Kane of Taxi). I just love this movie. Actually I watched it TWICE last night! Think I got to bed sometime after 3 a.m....!!

My time in C'ville.....

I finally got back from Caseville yesterday and trying to catch up on things.

My trip to Caseville was eventful. First weekend I went to a birthday bash at the Eagles for George who turned 90! Hubby came up by Tuesday of the following week. He would have come up sooner but he had to wait for our medical insurance bill to arrive so we could get the damn thing paid...and it came late of course. Second weekend was the Memorial Day weekend and there were tons of garage sales everywhere. I tried to hit most of them in the Caseville area but didn't get to the ones in Pigeon that I heard were much better and more of them. I got all my flowers planted in my flower bed and got my tomatoes and peppers planted in my garden. I also planted cucumbers in some pots and some green onions and radishes. So hopefully we will be enjoying some great salads soon!

Two bummer things happened. One was the total breakdown of my lawn mower. Actually, I think I screwed it up worse than what it was normally. Normally, it is hard to start but I can eventually get it started. So I finally got it started and had just started cutting the grass when it died on me....there was no gas in the tank....I forgot to check. So when that happens...you run it dry....it screws up the carburator and won't stay started now. Hubby tried to fix it, but no luck. We ended up taking it to these lawn mower fixer-upper guys. I told them the carburator is messed up and needs to be replaced. Of course, they figured I'm just a dumb blonde woman who couldn't possibly know anything, so instead of replacing the carburator like I told them to, they simply cleaned out the old one and thought they fixed it. They also replaced the spark plug even though I told them that we put a brand new one in. I took it in on Monday and got it back on Friday. Five freaking days to replace a spark plug and clean out a carburator. And guess what?? It still won't stay started...which is exactly what it was doing when I took it in. Duh?? Gee guys, maybe it needs a NEW carburator!! I had to rent one of their mowers while it was being "repaired" and that cost me $25....plus another $40 for them to "repair" my mower. I needed to cut my grass again before I left and couldn't do it. Screw the damn thing. I'm going to buy me a new one. Even when it was working, it took me forever to get it started. I want one that will start on command. I want to be able to look at it and yell 'START', and have it purr for me.

Then my poor dog, Lucky, got sick. It might have been the well water I was putting in their water dish. Usually I give them bottled water, but I got lazy and was giving them tap water. He has a touchy stomach and it doesn't take much to give him the runs, so I'm guessing that might have been the reason. Plus, I gave him some chicken I had for dinner and chicken gives him the runs too sometimes. Anyway, he was going and going and going. I even kept the doors open all night so he could run outside everytime the urge hit him. But one night, hubby decided to shut the doors and didn't tell me so I didn't know I had to get up out of bed to let him out...and when I did get up at 6 a.m. there was dog shit all over my cottage. In the kitchen, in the living room, in the bathroom, the hallway and the second bedroom. Of course, it was me cleaning it up with every type of carpet cleaner I had. I should have waken up sleeping, snoring hubby and made him clean it up....or rub his nose in it! The next night, the doors were open all night.

Lucky was getting sicker and sicker and by the time hubby left for home, he was laying under the bed so still and I was screaming his name...LUCKY!! and he wouldn't even move and I thought for sure he died. I was shaking and my heart was pounding I was so scared. I got a flashlight and looked under the bed and he looked at me. I was so weak with relief I had to sit down and catch my breath...my heart was pounding so hard. Damn dog!..scarying me like that. Anyway, he looked awful so I got him out from under the bed and took him to the vet. The vet fixed him up with a shot and pills and in a couple days he was his old self again.

Hubby got my bathroom done. He put up the medicine cabinet he spray painted and hung the mirror back up and put in my new sink and faucet. That was a major all-day job. He ended up having to replace the lines. It looks great now.

Indiana Jones was playing at the theater in town and I wanted to go see it, but hubby didn't want to go so I went by myself and saw it. It's a good action-packed film with lots of humor...typical Indiana Jones. God, I love Harrison Ford!!

Third weekend hubby was gone and there was another birthday celebration at the Eagles for George's wife. I think she's 86 or 87. I took some pictures of them, but I have to download them into the computer and then I'll try to remember to post them. Wow...trying to imagine hubby and I being that old....him at 90 and me at 86!!

So now I'm back home and this weekend is the Redford festival and hubby is going with me whether he likes it or not. Last year, he had his shoulder surgery and the year before I got my weekends mixed up and was in Caseville while it was going on. So this year, I'm home and we're going.

So that's about it.....
