"LOST" and Found.....

LOST is finally back on!!.....Actually the season premier starts tomorrow night, but tonight they reshowed the season finale from last season. I taped it. It was kinda cool how they broadcasted it with the typed comments on the bottom of the screen that was added in to let you know what was going on and reminding us of weird things about the scene, etc. I can't wait for tomorrow night....!!!!! The websites are abuzzing with everybody's theories of what they think is going on. I have my own ideas.

I've been looking for a spice rack for my cottage and I found one at my favorite consignment store today. I'm not even sure if it's even suppose to BE a spice rack, but that's what I'm going to use it for. It's a green wiry thingy that will hold six of my favorite spices and it will sit up against the back wall of my kitchen counter.

I found this new yahoo group called "The Compact". I read about it in the newspaper today. It's for people who try to compact their life and simplify their lives by NOT buying new crap they don't need. They try to economize in every single way and give each other tips. Here's an example:

Somebody offered this tip.....they said that when you run hot water in the tub and cold water comes out first, catch the cold water in a bucket before the hot water starts to run and then use the bucket of cold water to flush your toilet....! Hey, every free flush saves money, right??

I'm always looking for new ways to save money...

Actually, I was at my favorite clothier consignment store also today and bought a suit jacket to wear with slacks for $8.50. It is a really well made jacket....not the usual cheap crap they sell at Wal...oops...Kmart...LOL

I don't know what's going on with my blog page. When I look at it, I have to scroll down almost to the bottom to find my whole right page of stuff. Don't know how that happened since I didn't change anything. How do I get it back up to the top where it's suppose to be??

I hate MYSPACE......I only have one cause my daughter-in-law made one for me so I could get into theirs and see pics and crap they put on there. I rarely go into it myself and I do nothing in it. I mainly go into in so I can get into other people's to see their pics or blog. Problem is that most of the time, it fucks my computer up! I tried to get into my army son's myspace to see pics cause they never send me any pictures and I have no idea how things are even going out there in North Carolina where he is stationed cause nobody bothers to email me or send pics or anything. So I go into his myspace and probably cause of all the music shit that's on there my whole computer freezes up and I can't do anything for like 20 minutes. I can't even stop all the damn downloading. I'm screwed and I have to just walk away from my computer for 20 mins. I have had this trouble with other myspace's as well.

I even tried to get into Tom Pelphrey's myspace (a soap opera guy) and my computer was all screwed up....

I think it's all the music that people download on their pages. Even people's blogs with music I have trouble sometimes getting into....but at least I can get out of it if it's too much trouble. Myspace is different....once it starts downloading you're screwed...as least on my computer.

Freezin' Frickin' Friday........

I would take hot and humid over f'ng FREEZING COLD any day of the week. People are always saying how cold is better than hot cause you can always layer clothes, but with hot weather you can only take off so much. Well, I don't see people retiring to Alaska or the Upper Peninsula......no they still go south or out to Arizona.....cause hot is still better than cold.

Today hus and I went to this consignment store near our house and I bought a cd/dvd bookcase shelf for "what is suppose to be my computer room but is now 'Brinks' room". I didn't like the other bookcase shelf I had cause it wasn't big enough and didn't hold all my movies. So I put it on Craigslist for $5 and someone is coming tomorrow to pick it up.

Yes, the other room is suppose to be my computer room. We moved all the computer stuff here in my spare room so hubby could paint the room. He finally got the room painted and Brinks moved in. So I'm still here with my computer on a card table. I'm trying to decide what to do with the carpet in the other room. It is a disaster and needs to be replaced, but when I replace the carpet I want to redo the whole upstairs and have one carpet throughout. But I'm not ready to recarpet the whole upstairs yet.....especially with Brinko pooping everywhere.

I have this really nice two piece computer desk I bought at Art Van like over 5 years ago and the two long boxes are still sitting on the floor. There is no point in husband putting the desk together until I decide for sure what I'm going to do with the floor.....so I'm thinkin'.

I'm thinkin' that maybe we should just pull up all the carpet and pad and just lay some inexpensive linoleum or tile down.....probably be better since it will be an office/computer room and easier to roll the chair around, etc. Then someday when I'm ready to recarpet the whole upstairs, it will be easy enough to carpet over.

But if I have a linoleum guy come out to do the job, he will have to put up with Brinks flying around and trying to sit on his head....!

Ok....I gave a pint of my precious blood today.....so stop calling me!!

My computer was down most of the day today. I couldn't log on. So I called tech support and found out that there was some kind of an outage in my area. It was restored later this evening. Whewwww! I was afraid there was something wrong with my computer.

Like I said before, Brinks likes hubby and hates me!....(except my head) Today he's sitting at the top of the stairs and he's letting my husband pet him. I just put a finger near him, and he starts beak biting my hand and making these growly noises. But he always sits by me at the computer and on my head. Husband said he never sits on HIS head when he's on the comp, or even on the back of the chair like he does with me......so go figure. Dumb bird....

I cancelled my mammo appointment, but today some lady from the hospital calls to CONFIRM my appointment for Friday......so I call back to talk to someone and a recording tells me that the phone number is being checked for trouble....???!! What?? The lady had just called and left a message from that number! I couldn't get through all day. I'll try again tomorrow. Don't know why she thinks I'm coming since I cancelled the appointment. Yeah, besides the almost $200 for the mammogram, there are still radiologist charges I will also have to pay for....so a total closer to $300 for a routine mammo and there won't be anything wrong anyway. Screw it...

I'm going to go read my book. I bought "Jonathan's Story....Guiding Light". It's a continuation of a story line from my soap opera, Guiding Light:

"See after Tammy died, Jonathan took his baby daughter and faked their deaths and left Springfield. Only his mother (Reva) knows they are really alive. Alan Spaulding is responsible for Tammy's death....and Alan is baby Sarah's grandfather and Alan is a very rich and powerful man and wants to take Sarah away from Jonathan. So Jon faked their deaths. While chasing Alan in his car, Jonathan turned the car towards a cliff and at the last minute grabbed Sarah and jumped out of the car just as the car careened over the cliff. His mother, Reva, was driving behind him and saw the car go over the cliff. Alan and Reva stopped their cars and stood at the cliff and saw the car explode.....and Reva was screaming "JONATHAN!!!!!!" Later, Jonathan and Sarah came to Reva just before they left Springfield, so Reva was relieved and happy to see that they were alive."

The book is about Jonathan and Sarah's life after they left Springfield. And Tammy is a ghost in the book....as well as a ghost on the show sometimes.

Everybody wants my blood and my money...!

Today I had an appointment to give blood, but I went to the gym instead. Oh well, guess I'll have to make another appointment. These people call me constantly. The last time I tried to give blood, I didn't pass the iron test. And the blood tests I had when I had pneumonia showed that I was anemic. So I really don't want to be giving people my blood for awhile, but they keep calling. So I made an appointment just to shut them the hell up, but I didn't go.......so sue me!

I had an appointment this Friday for my routine mammogram. They called me today and because of the crappy insurance we have now, I have to pay almost $200 for it. So I cancelled the appointment. It's bad enough, they get rich off the sick, now they want to get rich off the healthy. It's not like I have a problem. It's just a routine exam I do every freakin year and everything is always okay. I told them I have better things to spend my money on. I'm going to check on other mammogram clinics and see if I can get it done cheaper.

I feel like crap. It's my sinuses...or whatever. Personally, I think it's all the dog hair and bird feathers in this house that is causing allergies. I told my hus that we really need to get somebody in here and have all our furnace ducts cleaned out. There is probably more hair in the ducts than on the dogs!

All I do is sneeze and blow my nose all day.

I dropped a can of pop and it popped open and sprayed pop all over my dining room.....the carpet was soaked with pop, the walls, the table and chairs, the chair pads and even the freakin ceiling!....what a holy mess....We got the carpet cleaner out and at least got the carpet looking okay. I'm still finding spots.....it was everywhere.......whoooooooooossssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

Did I watch the stupid American Idol auditions tonight?? NOPE.....We watched Just for Laughs instead....way more funnier. Whenever AI gets around to actually picking out the contestants then maybe I'll watch it.....until then, the show is lame.

So Heath Ledger is dead......probably an overdose......how stupid can ya get. What was he doing laying in bed naked in the middle of the afternoon anyway with pills all over his bed??? He had a lot of potention and now he's dead....gone. RIP

Finally back online.....

Well, it's Friday and I finally got my phone line working again! Yep, I have been with no dial tone all week, and of course that also means NO INTERNET!! I called the damn phone company 3 times with my cell phone. I told them that I don't give a damn whether I have a phone or not, but I WANT MY COMPUTER BACK!!! Apparently, they were doing some cable work and people's phone lines would be shut down for awhile...and when they get everything done, then they will check and see who still doesn't have a dial tone and get to fixing them. What a pain....

It's not like I got anything exciting to write about...just the SOS. I voted in the Primary on Tuesday here in Michigan. Guess ole Mitt Romney won the Republican vote. Since his dad use to be Governor here, you would think he would care more about Michigan to begin with and he would have run for Governor against Granholm when we really needed him a few years back. Funny how his name is Mitt, and Michigan is shaped like a mitten....hahahah

I've been cleaning out my file cabinets in "Brink's Room", and Brinks walks around on the floor watching everything I'm doing...stepping on all the papers. Or he flys and sits on my head. I found a lot of cute pigeon videos on YouTube, guess alot of people have pigeons for pets. Well, Brinks is only here TEMPORARILY!!!!!

American Idol is back on...yippee! Wonder what kind of untalented idiots they will have on the show this year??? Last year was a joke. I read that they have to do better this year or it may be their last year. They focus too much on finding good BAD singers for the auditions then actually finding good singers for the show. So we'll see.

My absolute fave reality tv show is Big Brother which always runs once a year and starts in July......welllllll, guess they are going to do another one in February this year. So I'm all psyched about it.....and if it runs against American Idol, then AI can take a back seat. And, of course, my other fave show is "24" is going to be starting, and they better not run against each other. I totally hate how usually there is absolutely nothing on TV to watch anymore, and then in February everything is on....grrrrrrrr

Today I went to an estate sale....Lordy, I just LOVEEEEEEE Estate Sales!! It seems like everybody else has great stuff as opposed to all the crap I have. Weird thing is that I buy their great stuff, take it home, and now it's just more crap in my house....

I bought a new outdoor planter for hubby to plant his patio tomatoes in. I bought a birdfeeder for the cottage. The rest was just household stuff from their kitchen, like trash bags, seran wrap, bathroom cleaner, etc. I did buy an old 1943 army post card that I listed on ebay.

At this thrift store in Caseville I bought this Jimmy Buffet parrothead book for $1.00 and I checked it out on ebay and there are some priced for over $60!!....so I listed it. I figure I can go through it while it's listed and hopefully it will sell and I'll be done reading it by then. I don't need to keep it around while it can make me some mooooolaaaa.

Brinks likes my hubby bestest!!....boo-hoooooooo My husband is the one that pets him all the time. Everytime he goes into the room, Brinks flies down to this lower perch, spreads his wings and wants him to scratch his back and under his wings. When he sees me he flies away, cause I'm the meanie mommy that puts him in his cage when I have to transport him back and forth to Caseville, and I'm the meany mommie that sprays him with a water sprayer so his wings stay waterproof. So he thinks I'm a big meany and my husband is his BFF!! I guess my feeding him, changing his newspapers, and cleaning up all his shit...literally...doesn't matter. Just like a real kid!....Dad is more fun....

Hus was saying that I should dress Brinks up as a parrot for Cheeseburger next year.....and I'm like "What??....He ain't gonna be here!"....Come Springtime, he's on his own. Hus just laughs at me. Today Brinks did fly on top of my head for awhile. He's lucky nothing dropped on my head or he'd be flying solo sooner than he thinks...haha

Happy 2008!

I finally returned from my Holiday trip to Caseville a couple days ago. I admit that I stayed longer than I thought I would, but once I get there it's hard to drive back to reality.

My husband got up to Caseville a few days before Christmas and left a few days after the New Year's, so even he was there almost 2 weeks. We had a GREAT, and QUIET, and RELAXING Christmas! I spent all day in my lounging pj's. I made a spiral ham for dinner. We finally got around to opening up our gifts after 5:00. There was no rushing in the morning so we can get ready to go to other people's houses as in the past.

New Year's Eve we went up to the Eagles club for awhile and got home in time for midnight. Although, I have to admit that I really don't even remember midnight!! I drank way too much and I was drinking gin which I know I can't handle, but wtf, it was New Year's. I remember getting home just before 11:00 and finding Dick Clark.....then the news came on and I got pissed so I put in a Dylan CD and that's all I remember until I woke up in my pj's in bed the next morning. Guess I had a 'black-out' moment. The wine was still in the fridge, and the gin bottle was empty (well, it was only 1/2 full to begin with), so I guess I had a good time.

Among other things, my husband bought me 3 CD's for Xmas.....Carrie Underwood, Prince and Bob Dylan. The Dylan CD is top-notch....30 songs, 2 discs, all of his classics and then some. Since I've been home, I'm constantly on the computer with YouTube watching video clips of Dylan. I forgot what a great songwriter he is. I've been actually reading the lyrics to some of his songs and I'm totally blown away. I couldn't believe that he wrote "Masters of War" in 1963 for god's sake....and it so applies to today with all the crap going on in Iraq and with our government. Someone made a clip of that song using images of Bush, Iraq, etc.....the song was so prophetic. I'll have to post the lyrics.

I have a t-shirt I bought at a celebrity auction in 1990 that someone airbrushed/painted his guitar on the front and Dylan himself airbrushed his name under it.....awesome!
