Happy B'day to Hubby....yesterday

Yesterday was hubby's birthday. Our youngest son came over and we all went out to eat at Brann's Restaurant. If it's your birthday they give you a coupon good for a free meal the next time you come in. My son still has his from when we went last year for his birthday but he forgot to bring it....! Then hubby didn't think to bring his wallet and didn't even have his driver's license with him, but they took our word and gave him the coupon anyway.

We came home and had cake and ice cream and he opened the gifts I got him. I don't think he was expecting anything. Especially since he went to Sears yesterday and bought himself a riding lawn mower. I tried to talk him into just buying a new really good lawn mower but he wants a riding one. I told him that cutting the grass is the only exercise he gets and now he wants to just ride around the yard....oh well. They are going to hold it for us until we get the shed put up. We're having a shed installed in a couple weeks. We had the cement foundation laid a couple years ago and never got around to building the shed.....hubby was originally going to build it himself, but now he decided to just have them do it. Good idea, or it will be another couple years before he gets it done and I highly doubt that Sears will hold the tractor that long....haha.....we can't put it in the garage cause his non-running car is sitting in there.

Yesterday I had an appointment with one of those HealthFair medical testing guys. They had a trailer set up in the CVS parking lot where they did the tests. I got the heart package. They did 3 tests on my heart. They said they didn't see anything life-threatening and I'll get the results and pictures of my heart in a few weeks. I had the same thing done about 4-5 years ago up in Elkton when I was on vacation and everything looked good and that is when I was still smoking....

And I went to the gym and did 50 mins on the treadmill.....I think my jeans feel a little looser so hoping it's doing some good.

Boy, I must be really losing it today. I put some sausage in the oven and about 45 mins later I went to get it out and it was still sitting in there cold.....I forgot to turn the oven on! So I just heated it up quick in the microwave.

I just sent a letter to my son and the postman delivered one to us from him. He finished Phase 1 of his training and he's starting Phase 2. He had to do that thing where all the guys have to go into this gas chamber and they can't breathe and their eyes are watering and their face feels like it's on fire. I guess it's pretty bad. My son says he hopes he never has to do that again.

So today I went to the gym and did the treadmill for 50 mins. They have these new treadmills now that have their own individual TV screen and you can plug in your earphones and watch TV.....so I watched one of my soaps. Makes the time go by. Each session is 25 mins, so I did it twice so I could keep watching....haha

I wasn't a big fan of Anna Nicole Smith but it's too bad that she died, especially at such a young age and with a little baby and all. I wonder what killed her. I wouldn't be surprised if she was murdered. Well, guess we'll find out eventually.

So Saturday is hubby's birthday!! My youngest son is coming over and we'll all go out to dinner somewhere. That should be fun.....that's all folks!

Wednesday....

Yesterday was my first day back on the job and everything went great. I have a new office that's right across the hall from the one I had last year. Old habits kick in cause everytime I walk down the hall to my office, I want to turn into the old one. Some guy is using it now and he has it all decorated with sports stuff. He has some old Red Wings sweater hanging on his wall.....??????

A couple years ago we had a cement slab put in our back yard for a shed that my husband wanted and said he would build himself. Last summer he never got around to it and now he's retired. So when he got his bonus check that he still got at the end of the year I figured he should use it to get his shed. I saw one at Home Depot that looked exactly like the one he was going to build so I told him about it and he went and looked at it. He couldn't believe how exactly it is like the drawing he made of the one he wanted. So he has it ordered and they are suppose to put it up later this month. I guess they don't get that many orders this time of year so they are offering a 10% rebate if you order before the end of the month. We're getting it unpainted cause they charge a lot for it to be painted. Hubby says he can paint it himself next summer. He better!....or I'll buy me a paint brush and a bucket of paint and do it myself....

I got my scanner/printer all hooked up now....so I'm really in business now! It is a much better printer than the cheapo one I had before. I'm only a bit disappointed that pictures don't print out as nice as I would like. The printer even has a slot to install your digital camera memory card, so I assumed that it printed out decent photos from it. I'm thinking of buying a photosmart printer and use it strictly for photos.

So today I didn't work so I went grocery shopping. We were down to almost nothing in the house. I had made a big crock pot of cabbage soup for Super Bowl and that's about all we've been eating....so now the fridge is stocked....and I went to the tanning salon.....and to Walgreen and had some pics developed. The damn library was closed again today.....as it was Monday.....something about having bldg problems. I need to make a copy of the rebate postcard for my internet connection equipment. They better be open tomorrow.

Okay....Bernie Mac is on so I'm off to bed to watch it.....bye

Michigan is COLD....Prince is HOT!!

Yippeeeee.....the guys with the horseshoes on their hats won!! I went to Michelle's (my daughter-in-law) and I watched part of the Super Bowl at her house. I only watch it for the entertainment. I know nuttin bout football. I loved watching Billy Joel and really, really, REALLY LOVED PRINCE!!!...he's the only reason I even bothered turning it on this year. I was back home by the time half-time came on and I had the TV crankin'. Now I gotta go buy his CD!!

We couldn't believe how one of the guys had a full field to himself and made an easy home run like in less than 15 mins after the game started.

My husband laughed at me when I was crying last week cause one of my favorite soap characters died and the other faked his death and they both left the show. Personally, I think there is more emotion to THAT than watching some guy running across a line holding a ball in his arms......

I have a Myspace page. I have no idea what it is. My daughter-in-law and I got together one night when we were both drinking a while back and set it up I guess.....I didn't even know what it was at the time. Anyways, she's done a good job getting it to look all pretty and all but tonight is actually the first time I've even been into it to even see it!

Damn it's cold outside. I made my little dog wear two sweaters before I would let her outside. She looked so funny...lol! She reminded me of that little boy in "The Christmas Story" when his mother dressed him up so much he couldn't even move his arms...haha.

I miss Xmas now....

Well, all my Xmas shit is still in my spareroom...maybe I'll start decorating tomorrow since hubby won't get it up in the attic where it belongs now that is FEBRUARY!

YES....I am finally online at home! ...no more libraries! I am getting use to the new setup from what I had before. They sent me the modem I needed to hook up to my phone line and I had a problem. I needed to buy an ethernet card and replace the one in my computer. We worked on it last night and got it going. So now, of course, I've been on it all freakin day....haha

I forgot to mention that I lucked out on my jury duty service. I got there at 7:45 a.m. and by 11:00 they said they only needed a couple dozen people to stay and the rest could go home. My name wasn't called, so I got to go. That was so awesome!!

I sent my son a letter, but I don't think he is even getting his mail yet. But I'll write another one anyway. By the time he gets his mail, he'll be swamped. I guess things are getting a little better for him. They are telling everyone that they will be going to Iraq, but my husband says they just say that. When he was in the army back during the Vietnam war, they were all told that they would be going to Vietnam although he never did. They just like to play with their heads....their form of brainwashing...making you think the worse and see if you can still perform....whatever...

It's the weekend and Super Bowl is here and I can't drink!!...boohoo....I have GOT to lose some weight before I start work so I can get into my clothes. I start next week, so something better happen soon. I've been dieting and going to the gym. Yesterday I did the treadmill twice!

Charity called and they were doing a pick up today, so I actually got my husband to go through boxes of his crap and he threw a bunch of clothes out. I swear a lot of those clothes haven't seen the outside of the box in 20 years!!

Ok...I'm gonna go and keep playing on my computer....ciao
