Cheeseburgers and Hospitals.....???

I'm typing from the library from home. Yep, currently I'm back in Redford....here's what's going on: I drove up to Caseville on Thursday and hubby came up by Saturday. It was a crazy weekend with the Cheeseburger festival starting. There were tons of people everywhere in town and lots and lots of cheeseburgers being sold on the streets and booths selling all kinds of stuff. We ate burgers and drank lots of beer and had a good time. Things slow down on Monday and Tuesday and then Wednesday is the parade and it will get even crazier after that through the weekend. I even took Mini Sue, my little dog, to the pet fashion show at the vet clinic, and she was all dressed up in her hula girl costume...haha. The traffic in town was so bad that it took my husband 45 minutes just to get through town when he drove up!

Anyway, so Sunday night my son calls us to let us know that my sister-in-law had been trying to reach us. My mother-in-law is in the hospital in intensive care and hooked up to a ventilator and complete life support. They had taken her to the hospital cause she wouldn't eat or drink anything for days. Then while she was there she had trouble breathing and they had to hook her up to a ventilator. So we drove back Monday. We've been at the hospital yesterday and today. Right now, she is basically out of it....I doubt if she even knows we are there....and they have her stablized with machines and drugs. There's a machine keeping her breathing and drugs to keep her blood pressure up. They say that she has pneumonia in her lungs and she is too weak to breathe on her own. They are trying to clear up the pneumonia and then try and wean her off the ventilator. I don't think there is much they can do....but she is on the machines until they figure it out. I'm thinking that they will do what they can do for a couple weeks and then they will just have to remove the tubes and let her go. But then again, she has been in the hospital numerous times and things look bad and she pulls through.

Anyway, we are going to drive back up to Caseville tomorrow and my husband will be back by Sunday. If anything happens in the meantime, we can always drive back sooner. Not much we can do whether we are here or not.

So that's that for now...........

So yesterday I went to Greenfield Village with my friend. She always gets those seasonal passes that includes free admission for a friend. I love walking through the village and looking through all the old houses. This time we took the train ride and a horse-drawn buggy. I couldn't believe that they close up by 5:00 on the week days....I thought they would be open later, so we didn't have a lot of time. Then we went to Mexican Fiesta and got something to eat.

My son stopped over this morning to pick up some money he had at our house. He'll be coming up to Caseville for the second Cheeseburger weekend. I'll be leaving tomorrow....husband will be up by Saturday, the first Cheeseburger weekend, and stay all week.

So I don't think I have lost a freakin pound and next week I'll be eating Cheeseburgers and drinking margaritas and beer all week....

I don't get it.....I starve myself all week, feel like I lost a few pounds, then drink beer on the weekend and back to where I started....DAMN....

This coming to the library to use the computer is getting old....I'll have to do something with my computer after summer is over I think.

Have a great week!

GO TIGERS!

They delivered my new couch Friday and it looks great....way better than the other smaller one. So that's done! When I left on Tuesday to drive there it was almost 100 degrees outside and it was horrible driving. My AC was running but it was still too warm for my poor dogs. I kept putting ice on their heads to keep them cool. When I got up there my grass was so long, but it was too hot to cut it....too hot on Tuesday and too hot on Wednesday....then Thursday it rained all freakin day, so I didn't get my grass cut until Friday. Then I drove back home Saturday. Yesterday my husband and I went to see the Tigers play the Indians. We're lucky we got tickets. I've never seen the stadium so filled before...Anyway, they won 1-0. And wouldn't you know it...I was in line at the ladies room when they got their one and only run and missed it....haha

So today I'm here at the library and tomorrow I'm meeting up with my g'friend and we are going to Greenfield Village for the day and catch up on stuff. Then Wednesday I'm driving back to Caseville. My husband will be there by Saturday for his week's vacation and it will be Cheeseburger in Caseville week....a crazy festival that draws thousands and thousands of people. It will be a nutso week. They were already getting the town decorated when I left.....the flamingoes are roosting on the lightposts, etc. I think there is a website that tells you more about it at www.cheeseburgerincaseville.com.

Nothing much else going on....it's hard to think and type in a library....so post more later....ciao

I'm hoping to leave today to get back to Caseville for my couch delivery on Friday....and get my grass cut and flowers watered. My son was there two weekends ago and watered everything at least. Today I had a power-washer guy over to powerwash the side of my garage...the side that faces the neighbor's yard that is a total mess with green/grey moldy stuff. I also had him do the front of the garage and the main side of my house that I couldn't clean myself cause it's a two-story house. So he came this morning and now everything looks nice.

Over the weekend we went to my in-laws and partied. Saturday was the Telegraph Cruiser where all the classic cars drive up and down Telegraph Rd. My inlaw's back yard backs up to Telegraph and it's a great spot to watch....so there were a lot of people there, lots of beer and food and lots and lots of FUN! One of my sister-in-law's high school friends was there and we got to talking about where she lived. She lived on the same street as an old boyfriend of mine from my "divorce days" and it turns out they both remember him from school.....small world! I kept a diary back in those days and I've been reading and remembering the "good ole days"...I'll have to post some of it some day....haha....Damn, I had fun back then!!

Anyway, so now I am going to Caseville but I'll be back on Saturday. My husband and I are going to a Tigers game on Sunday....tickets are hard to get now that they are in first place.....GO TIGERS!!
