The Wedding....
So this has been a busy weekend for us. Saturday evening we drove to the church for the wedding rehearsal. It's the first time I met with the minister. My son had had some trepidations about marrying in the church. Some churches require several meetings beforehand and alot of questions are asked, and some even require you to attend meetings and attend church services beforehand for awhile. That is what my other son had to do before they got married (oh, and also give the proper amount of money each week!) Anyway, my son just didn't want to get into all that. So he wanted to get married in some small chapel nearby....very nondenominational.
She, however, wanted a church with a long aisle for her to walk down and big enough for everybody and large rooms for the girls to get ready in, etc. And I agreed. She was getting nowhere with my son and emailed me. So I told her to go ahead and have her grandmother make the arrangements cause I'll talk to him and he'll do it.
All it took was a couple emails from wise-ole mom and he finally agreed. So they had a beautiful church wedding on Sunday....and when she walked down that aisle I had tears running down my face. She was so beautiful...
Prior to the ceremony, they only had to meet with the minister a couple times; and yes, there was some online questionnaire with like 200 questions on it that they both had to answer and give to him. Alot of the questions were stupid as far as I was concerned. I would have answered "none of your business".
Anyway, back to the wedding....Her father came to the wedding(alone). He did not walk her down the aisle....she walked the aisle by herself. After the ceremony, he had his picture taken with her at the altar. We didn't talk to him. I didn't think he was going to be at the reception but he was there. He seemed to be enjoying himself. Again, we didn't talk to him. But she didn't do the father/daughter dance with him. Don't.know.why.I.didn't.ask....I mean, it's not like they are estranged. She and her daughter have been living with him and his wife since she's been divorced. She is only now just moving out.
So the wedding was perfect. The reception was perfect. I loved her dress and the dresses of her girls. Her daughter and a friend's daughter were flower girls. Noelle's dress and her daughter's dress were identical with the same color sash around their waistline which matched the color dress of her maid-of-honor. The other little girl's dress was also identical and her sash matched the bridesmaid's dresses. Just beautiful!

The Wedding Weekend....
Okay....so who in the hell prayed for rain this weekend??? GRRRRRRRR. Tomorrow my son is getting married and the weather report is stating RAIN RAIN RAIN all day. It's already starting to rain now and it's all dreary.
Well, I tried to warn my son. When he gave me the date, I looked it up in the Farmer's Almanac and sure enough, it said 'Thunderstorms' for this weekend. I told him but he thought it was a bunch of malarkey....'how the hell would some farmer know that far in advance what the weather is going to be?' THE FARMER KNOWS....HE ALWAYS KNOWS!
Tonight is the rehearsal and I have the rehearsal dinner planned for a nice restaurant about 15 minutes away. They have a small banquet room in the back that they will let us use. I think there will be about 20 people.
But her dad and stepmom won't be there...
Her dad is an asshole and her stepmom is the bitch from hell....
Her stepmom has been trying to sabotage this wedding from the get-go. She likes having her and the granddaughter living with them. Guess it keeps their marriage together..having someone else in the house. And she resents my son 'taking them away from her...' She has been calling and texting horrid messages to my son. People have told my son how possessive and controlling she is and she is not very well liked in the family.
So my son basically said that she is NOT invited to the wedding. Of course, he can say what he wants but she is the wife of her father and I'm sure she will be there whether he likes it or not. The invitation was addressed to both of them. Well, apparently, (fiance told me), her father will be at the wedding but he will NOT be walking her down the aisle! And stepevilmom will not be coming at all!!
Hallefuckinlujah!! The fat cow is staying home...!!!
But I can't believe that her own father will not walk her down the aisle. Apparently, he has orders from Bitchwife, so he doesn't dare. Like I said, she is VERY controlling with everybody in her life...
My son's fiance was worried that if stepcow comes to the reception my son will make a scene. I said that it's not my son she has to worry about....Cause when someone pisses me off....when someone gets MaMa mad....when someone messes with one of my kids, then that person is going to have to deal with ME! I told my husband that if she is there, I am going to get a glass of red wine and 'accidently' bump into her...LMAO...and she better not be in the bathroom at the same time as me alone or she will find her head in the toilet..!!!!
Anyway, guess I won't have any fun flushing her fat face with toilet water cause she's not coming anyway. She must be scared of me....WHOOWHOOWHOO...
Rain or not, I'm looking forward to the weekend. Should be fun...I'll post pictures. Of course, not one of me holding the cow under water because she ainna gonna be there.....
THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS...
SIX MORE DAYS TO GO! Then Sunday my youngest son takes the plunge. Yes, there will be another wedding in our family...and that will be the last one!
So I gave up trying to comfortably fit into the dress I originally wanted to wear. I bought it in a little bridal shop in Bad Axe....a size 10, but for some reason it fits snug around the rib cage. I can get it zipped, but it feels too tight when I sit down. There's a jacket so it isn't real noticeable, but I don't feel very comfortable. So I've been working my bloody ass off the last few months or so...and basically getting nowhere. I lose weight, then go to Caseville and gain it all back. FRUSTRATING AS HELL!! I have a Plan B...you know, another dress I could wear. A size 10, as well, but it fits better. The one I want to wear is a light lavender color....Plan B is a real pale light grey...almost a white with a tinge of grey. Both are pretty.
So I'm talking with my son's fiance a few weeks ago and she shows me a picture on her phone of the bridesmaid's dresses....and....they are the EXACT SAME COLOR AS MY DRESS! Not close or almost the same....the EXACT same shade. She calls it Wisteria. I call it a light lavender. I knew her color scheme is basically pink and purple, but I thought it was a different shade of purple...darker. So I thought my light lavender dress would compliment.
I cannot wear the same color dress. It would look like I was trying to upstage her bridesmaid's dresses or something. And I don't want to look like I'm one of the bridesmaids. Not a good idea!
Oh well...just as well...I'll wear Plan B. But in trying to lose a few pounds in order for Lavender dress to fit better, now the Plan B dress is a little big...grrrrrrrr! But it has a jacket so it doesn't look too big. At least I can sit in it comfortably.
But I'll only be wearing it for the wedding and pictures and the first part of the reception. But once that music starts, I'm changing into my PARTY DRESS!! I'm not wearing a long dress with a long-sleeve jacket all evening. So I bought an adorable sleeveless black dress to wear for dancing.
So I have my dresses situation settled. I have all my accessories...shoes, earrings, bracelets, etc. I think I got it all covered.
I'll just be glad when it's over with....
My Dry week in Caseville....
I just spent a week in Caseville and got back yesterday. We are having major well problems at our cottage. Had water when I got there, but the next day after I showered I noticed that the water pressure was getting weaker and weaker until I was getting nothing out of the faucets except sludgey stuff...yikes!
I called the plumber but he wasn't coming out until the next morning. My plumber is good but he only works mornings....then he heads up to the Eagles for lunch, etc and goes home for the rest of the day. Remember, it's a small town and that's how they do things up there. Luckily I have my little condo apartment up the road that I could go to.
So the plumber gets out the next day and found a lose tubing thingy that is attached to the pump....voila!, problem solved. He replaces part of it and attaches and tightens it up. Then he primed the well and started her up and the pressure started rising and I had water!
...at least for a few days anyway...
By Sunday I had noticed that my toilet hadn't filled. Didn't think too much of it cause it fills slow and sometimes I just have to get out the pitcher and fill the tank up myself. So I figured it will fill eventually and I left to go up to the Eagles for their Spagetti benefit dinner they were having. They also had a silent raffle and a 50/50 drawing. The benefit was to raise money to help someone who has cancer and isn't working.
Then after the dinner some of us went into the lounge and had a few drinks and I didn't get back to the cottage until close to 8:00. The toilet still hadn't filled and I turned on the faucet and NO WATER AGAIN. That's when I noticed that the pump was still running....running but not getting any water. I turned it off and had to wait until morning to call the plumber.
He came out the next morning but couldn't get the water up. He said that I have a deep well but a shallow pump and that alot of the shallow pumps are having problems getting water because of the low water levels what with all the dry hot summer we are having and lots of people using the water. Shallow pumps can only pump water that is down 25 feet....lower than that they can't pump it up....that's when you need a submersible pump, which most people have but we don't. He said that he has been replacing shallow pumps for people.
So that's what we have to do. Replace our pump with a submersible one. Well, I had to come home so they are ordering the parts and will have it replaced by next week. Then (hopefully), I'll have water when I go back up again in a couple weeks.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.....another major unexpected bill!! I swear, it's been one thing after another since about the middle of December. 2011 has NOT been a good year. What else can go wrong?? I mean, just before I left for Caseville we lost power for a few days....then we had plumbing problems here at home and now this. Probably gonna cost us almost two grand. Yeah, like I don't have better things to spend my money on!!!
Whatever....it's only money
