Tomorrow I'm outta here...

We got dumped with a ton of snow here on Sunday. I didn't even bother trying to get out of the driveway, so I stayed home and did nothing. Monday I decided to clean out my fridge which needed it badly and I also cleaned out a couple of kitchen cupboards. Today I took some canned goods and a few other items to a food-for-the-needy place. It was nice getting my cupboards cleaned out. Now I got some room in there.

Today I visited a cousin of mine for a few hours. He and his wife recently got back from a great vacation....a real vacation....they flew to New York and then took a cruise on a ship down to the Caribbean. They do things like that. They've been on other ship cruises and to Cancun and New York to see plays. I told him I'm just trying to get my husband to take me to Archie's Restaurant to eat.

See...we got this restaurant gift card from one of my sons for Xmas LAST YEAR and we still haven't used it yet. Can't get hubby to drive a lousy 5 miles to the place and sit down and eat a decent meal. Well, it expires after Xmas and I'm leaving for Caseville tomorrow so he had no choice. When I got home from visiting my cousin I told him either we are going on a cruise or out to eat at Archies...his call. So we went to Archies and finally used the gift card.

I am leaving for Caseville tomorrow!!!! I can't wait. I just want to get out of here. I'm going to get my place all decorated. Then my husband will be up by the weekend and put the lights on the tree so I can decorate it. I don't do lights. God forbid if I did....they'd be all over the place and tangled up and probably start an electrical fire or something. We'll stay through New Years and then drive home.

I'm taking two of the dogs and Brinks and he'll drive up with the other dog. Brinks is so spoiled. He hates...and I mean HATES....being in his cage now. I got him in it today so I could bring his cage downstairs so he can be part of the family once in awhile and not just sit on top of a door all damn day. But he doesn't like it. He sits there and sulks. Today I was up close to the cage cooing at him and he bit my nose! Then I gave him popcorn which he likes and he just had a sissy fit and threw it all out of his cage and on the floor.....Brat! Well, in Caseville he can have the whole garage to himself. Will probably cost me a fortune to heat it for him though.

So I get my medical bill for when I went to the ER in Pigeon when I had pneumonia in Caseville.....$450!! I'm paying $400 a month for my insurance and I'm still paying bills. I had to pay a $100 ER fee....which totally pisses me off. It's not like I was at home where I could have went to my doctor, and it's not like I just had a sore throat or just a bad cold. I was 3 hours away from my doctor and I had freaking pneumonia!!

Whatever.....

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year's..........see ya in 2008

Happy Holidays/Christmas/

So it's not politically correct to say "MERRY CHRISTMAS"!! to anyone anymore???....well, guess what fucktards??....it's fucking Christmas....and that's what we say! So if ya don't like it, then we don't have to do Christmas and all you businesses can go bankrupt!!

Sorry for that outrage....but just had to get it off my chest.

Personally,...this is what I feel: Jesus was NOT born on Dec. 25....Christ, any idiot who knows their bible knows that. Dec 25 is actually a pagan holiday (Brumalia)....yeah google it!). But the christians had to convert the pagans to christianity so they just made up shit. The pagans didn't want to give up the idolatrous festival of December 25th, so the Christians told the pagans that Christ was born on that day(Dec. 25) and they were like "Ohhhhhh...coooollllll"!...Voila, we have Christmas...

...."Jeremiah 10:2-4....Thus saith the Lord, Learn NOT the way of the heathen,....(3)...For the customs of the people are vain; one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. (4)....They deck it with silver and with gold;....

Sounds like a Christmas tree to me.....Hey, I even got one!!!

So now we get good deals on crap we really don't need....and we get gifts that basically are simply just "something" that we really don't need....("gotta get something"), and it all ends up in a goodwill bag or a garage sale someday anyway.

The only thing that truly makes sense to me is where the bible says that Christ turns water into wine....I bought a couple bottles of wine to get me through this pagan/christian holiday....and beer.... and gin and vodka and tequila and rum....

Christmas....Schmistmas....

Only 13 more days til Christmas.....is everybody ready? Does anybody care??

I decided last year that I am not doing the big humongous tree this year. When we were in Caseville for New Year's I bought a smaller table-top type tree on sale. It's about 4 1/2 feet tall with frosted branches and little red berries...also a pre-lit one so hubby doesn't have to waste time putting all the lights on. When Mervyns went out of business I bought a few of their round display tables and a red tablecloth that fit. It's perfect for the new tree.

Also since my husband's shoulder is still in the process of healing, I decided not to drag all that Xmas stuff down from the attic this year. I went up there myself and brought down a few boxes that I could handle and left all the rest up there. I put the fiber optic tree up in the living room and a few other things. I got the kitchen box down so my kitchen is decorated. I put up my new tree in my family room and whatever else was in the boxes I brought down. Then I went to a thrift store and bought a few things to fill in where needed. My house looks really nice and somewhat different from previous years which is kind of nice.

My new tree is gorgeous! I decided last year that I wanted to do the whole tree in clear crystal/acrylic, so throughout the year as I go to garage sales, estate sales, stores, etc I look for ornaments. I got a lot of really good deals on real glass or crystal ornaments. I also bought some acrylic ones that look like crystal.....not cheap plastic ornaments....the better acrylic. I went to this one antique shop and a guy there was selling those crystals that use to hang on chandeliers...now they are hanging on my tree. My tree sparkles.....looks like ice on a frosted tree....just beautiful. I am very pleased how it turned out. I also bought some Mikasa clear glass angels that I have sitting in front of the tree.

I also decided that I am doing a "giftless" Christmas. I am sending the kids money and they can buy what they want and a restaurant gift certificate for them and their significant other. I told them not to buy us anything. We're not going to the in-laws. My husband and I are going to spend Christmas in Caseville. We will buy only for each other. It will be a stressless Christmas this year....not like last year. I am so NOT into Christmas anymore. I'm tired of the hecticness of it....the buying....the figuring out WHAT to buy....the wrapping....the get-togethers....everything. We'll send money and then get the hell out of here.

I'll be glad when it's over.....

Pippi in the driver's seat....

See how little Pippi is....

I'm Home.....

We had a good time in Caseville and a really good Thanksgiving. I bought an Amish turkey. But since I've never roasted a turkey in the oven there or in a GAS over for that matter, the turkey cooked slower than I anticipated. I thought it would be done by 4:00...by 5:00 it surely looked done even though the pop-up thingy hadn't popped up, so I took it out and put everything on the table. But as my husband was slicing it, we could tell that it was still pinky by the bone...grrrrrrrr....so I had to put it back in the oven. I think it was after 6:00 by the time we ate. But everything turned out anyway.

Hubby came home with one of the dogs last Thursday and I decided to stay another week and just drove home today.

I let Brinks have the garage to himself. He found all kinds of nooks and crannies to perch (and poop) on. It's an attached garage and the utility room/half bath has it's own heater, so I let the furnace run and left the door to the garage open to heat it for him (wonder what my gas bill will be???) We got a bad storm last Saturday up there, and I had to have my driveway plowed the next day.

I did some Xmas shopping for my hubby while I was there and got the gifts all wrapped. I got the cabinet in my bathroom painted....but hubby will give it a second coat while we're there for Xmas. I got all my mums cut down before the storm hit. Good thing, cause now everything is covered with snow.

I got an email from Bill's (Niagara Falls friend) sister and she told me that the house has been sold to someone who wants to restore it!! I am so thrilled about that. I was afraid someone was going to just tear it down. There are houses in that area that have been torn down and condos put in, and the house is on a corner lot. But now it will be restored and I couldn't be happier. I wish I could go see it once it's done. I think I'm going to send the new owners the old pictures I have of the house when my G-G grandparents lived there. Then maybe they will let me come see it and visit!!!

Nite....
